There are no dead ends with God
I had something happen to me this morning that has not happened to me in a very, very long time. I was going to a location that I wasn't familiar with, so I grabbed my phone, said, "Hey Siri," and told her to give me driving directions to the address.
This is what was amazing… the maps app that I was using sent me in the completely wrong direction! For an advanced information system, it got me turned around, and I ended up at a dead end!
There are moments in our lives when we feel like we're at a spiritual dead end. We feel lost and turned around, and we crave a GPS system for our life—something that can give us guidance, help, and set us in the right direction.
David knew exactly how this felt, and when he got to the end of himself, he wrote these words in Psalm 25:4-5:
“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God, my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” (Psalm 25:4-5, NIV)
We don't know what troubling situation drove David to write Psalm 25. We do know, because of the context, that it involved his enemies, a need for God's guidance, and some sin in his life. So, if you feel like you've reached a dead end in your life, God has given you a prayer to pray when you don’t know where else to turn!
Let's pray it together again….
Show me your ways, Lord, and teach your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God, my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
There are no dead ends with God, only a way forward!
Never forget, my friend, you are a miracle.
