Is God cutting or pruning right now? 🍇✂️🍇
Why would God cut something out of my life when it still “works”?
Maybe you’ve experienced this before, or maybe you’re right in the middle of it: you’re committed, faithful, giving your very best—and still, suddenly, there’s a cut. A change. Something is taken from you. It feels unfair.
Or maybe a lot in your life is going well, it’s almost too much. Everyone around you says, “You’re doing too much, let something go,” but you can’t see what that could possibly be. EVERYTHING feels so important.
Let’s look at God’s Word to find the answer:
“He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” (John 15:2, NIV)
Please listen closely. This will be very important for you: the branches that don’t bear fruit, GOD CUTS OFF. Gone! He removes them. Sometimes painfully. I’ve experienced this myself in a past relationship. At the time, I couldn’t understand it—we were already making wedding plans—and it hurt SO MUCH.
But today, I couldn’t be more thankful that God protected me from a huge mistake!
IN THE MOMENT, God’s decisions don’t always make sense, BUT IN THE LONG RUN, they’re always a great blessing! ❣️
That’s why He cuts off. But it also says: “...while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” (John 15:2, NIV)
The difference between “cutting off” and “pruning” is vital.
-
Cutting off = separates
-
Pruning = shapes
Yes, Jesus Himself prunes the fruit-bearing branches. Not because they’re bad, but because they hold potential for more! And that’s often hard to accept, because letting go is always painful, isn’t it? 😉
But let go, because God takes what is already BIG in your life and turns it into HUGE!
Trust the Gardener, even when it hurts, because He sees what you can’t see yet.
You are a miracle!
