Is God cutting or pruning right now? đâď¸đ
Why would God cut something out of my life when it still âworksâ?
Maybe youâve experienced this before, or maybe youâre right in the middle of it: youâre committed, faithful, giving your very bestâand still, suddenly, thereâs a cut. A change. Something is taken from you. It feels unfair.
Or maybe a lot in your life is going well, itâs almost too much. Everyone around you says, âYouâre doing too much, let something go,â but you canât see what that could possibly be. EVERYTHING feels so important.
Letâs look at Godâs Word to find the answer:
âHe cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.â (John 15:2, NIV)
Please listen closely. This will be very important for you: the branches that donât bear fruit, GOD CUTS OFF. Gone! He removes them. Sometimes painfully. Iâve experienced this myself in a past relationship. At the time, I couldnât understand itâwe were already making wedding plansâand it hurt SO MUCH.
But today, I couldnât be more thankful that God protected me from a huge mistake!
IN THE MOMENT, Godâs decisions donât always make sense, BUT IN THE LONG RUN, theyâre always a great blessing! âŁď¸
Thatâs why He cuts off. But it also says: â...while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.â (John 15:2, NIV)
The difference between âcutting offâ and âpruningâ is vital.
-
Cutting off = separates
-
Pruning = shapes
Yes, Jesus Himself prunes the fruit-bearing branches. Not because theyâre bad, but because they hold potential for more! And thatâs often hard to accept, because letting go is always painful, isnât it? đ
But let go, because God takes what is already BIG in your life and turns it into HUGE!
Trust the Gardener, even when it hurts, because He sees what you canât see yet.
You are a miracle!
