I’ve lost Jesus…

Publication date Dec 26, 2025

Have you lost your faith? I ask this so directly because it can happen to any of us—there are times we suddenly don’t feel Jesus, and it becomes exhausting to hold on to faith.

Mary and Joseph lost something too—Jesus! The Bible says:

"Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends." (Luke 2:41-44 NIV)

Do you know how embarrassing it is to have to say, “Have you seen my child? I’ve lost him…”? And honestly, it’s just as hard to admit: “Have you seen my faith somewhere? I’ve lost it.” 😞

No one likes to admit they can’t feel God, that reading the Bible is a struggle, or that their quiet time feels “quieter than ever” because there’s nothing to say. But that’s reality—one we all face.

So what’s the key? How can you find your faith again? I recommend you follow Mary and Joseph’s example!

Sometimes going back is the way to move forward! Why do I say that? Because the verse says:

"When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple courts...” (Luke 2:45-46 NIV)

They went back—and there they found Him. 🎉 Today I want to tell you: “Go back to where you’ve experienced Jesus!” In your church or community, in your worship time, or in quiet moments at home. Even if your search there hasn’t worked before, keep going—Mary and Joseph searched for three full days before finding Him.

You will find your faith again—I pray for that, and God promises it: "But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul." (Deuteronomy 4:29 NIV)

You are a miracle!
