Are you intimidated?
Right now, you are standing on the edge of the rest of your life, and it can be intimidating to look forward. But when we look back, first, our hearts are filled with gratitude.
We know that God is not only in charge of everything that happened in the past, but He’s also in charge of everything that lies ahead in the future.
As you look forward into 2026, I want to remind you that a new year is temporary, but the impact you can make in other people’s lives this year—and the transformation you can experience—can actually be eternal. Your life is but a vapor, but your eternity is secured through a relationship with a God who holds both time and space in His hand.
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12, NIV)
I did a simple calculation the other day and, based on life expectancy, I probably have about 10,000 days left. That number could be intimidating, or I can smile and thank God for the gift He offers as I look forward to following His plan for my future.
I want to encourage you: don’t measure your year by what you accomplish. Measure your year by how you invest in what lasts forever. There are only two eternal things—God’s Word and people.
Looking into 2026, may you put your greatest investments into retaining, understanding, and living out the Word of God, and serving the people that God has placed around you.
It’s going to be an amazing year. So Happy New Year, my friend. Never forget—you are a miracle.
