Come on...

Publication date Jan 15, 2026

“Test everything; hold fast what is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21, ESV)

What an amazing verse!

You can even apply it to everyday life by asking yourself: “Is it really a good idea for me to drink my fifth cup of coffee right now?” ☕️ No. “Okay, then I’ll skip that—but the glass of water next to it? That’s GOOD. I’ll keep that.”

Or, “Was it really helpful that I got up extra early to read my Bible, but honestly had my phone right next to me and ended up totally distracted?” No. Then tomorrow, let’s keep the good—the open Bible—and leave the bad (in this case, the phone) turned off for a few minutes.

How great would it be if, in EVERYTHING we do, we first paused to ask: “Is this good—or is this something I could simply remove from my life?”

Basically, I throw OUT what’s not good—and intentionally let IN what is good!

You know, God doesn’t ask this of you because He wants to make your life difficult. Never forget: He always has your best in mind! (See Romans 8:28.)

And He continues to walk with you, even when you choose what isn’t good. We read this in Scripture: “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” (Isaiah 30:21)

Come, let’s pray about this, because that helps more than anything!

Jesus, I don’t want to just keep doing “my thing” and going “my way” if it’s not good for me. Help me recognize, even in everyday moments, what is good and what isn’t. More than anything, I don’t want to keep going if I’m not walking on the path You’ve prepared for me. Please give me clarity, assurance, and discernment to know what is right and what is not. Amen.

You are a miracle!
