Nothing Should Matter More…

There is something I think we all need to remind ourselves of much more often: nothing should matter more than nurturing our relationship with God. 🙏🏻

I almost want to add, “...because everything else will pass away.”

And that’s true. Deep down, we know it. Yet life gets so busy that this truth often gets pushed to the side.

One of the greatest blessings in my life is that writing these emails requires me to open my Bible. And believe me, I was never the kind of person who jumped out of bed saying, “Yay! I get to start my day by reading the Bible!”

But since becoming anchored in God’s Word, something priceless has changed. 

My faith is no longer dependent on what others say—I have a strong faith of my own. Because I have a personal relationship with Jesus that continues to grow every day. Through regularly reading His Word, I’ve come to understand that what God says will come to pass.

The unseen will become seen.

And none of that scares me because, through this personal relationship, I experience the personal peace that Jesus promised. (See John 14:27)  

In short, when I read the Bible day after day, my faith becomes personal—and incredibly strong. 💪🏻 And because of that, I can read even difficult passages without fear taking hold of me. Hebrews 12 says:

“See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks … ‘Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.’ The words ‘once more’ indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.” (Hebrews 12:26–27)

Something we often try to ignore is this: the world as we know it will come to an end.

What remains will be what cannot be shaken. That’s why I want to leave you with this important reminder today:

Nothing should matter more than nurturing your relationship with Jesus. 🙌🏻

And through that relationship, no matter what comes, you will experience His peace.
