Be Stron! 💪

Publication date Aug 28, 2026

What comes to mind when I challenge you with these words from 1 Corinthians?

"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong." (1 Corinthians 16:13

Whew. Honestly? That verse can feel like a lot of pressure. It almost sounds like, "Pull yourself together." Or, "You have to figure this out!"

But that's not what Paul meant.

The original word used here carries the idea of being strengthened—not of becoming strong through your own efforts.

In other words, this verse isn't calling us to push ourselves harder. It's calling us to keep reconnecting with God's truth and strength.

And that changes everything.

Because if you're already exhausted and discouraged, this verse isn't meant to crush you with more expectations. God doesn't expect you to wake up every morning full of energy, courage, and enthusiasm.

He knows that life can wear us down. He knows that battles are exhausting.

So the real question isn't, "How strong are you?"

It's: "Are you making time to be strengthened?"

What does that look like in everyday life?

🔵 Through prayer🔵 Through God's Word🔵 By remembering God's faithfulness and choosing gratitude🔵 Through Christian community🔵 Through worship—even when you don't feel like it🔵 By making the intentional decision: I will keep trusting God.

In short, when Paul says, "Be strong," he's really saying, “Stay connected to the Source of your strength.”

And maybe being "strong" today simply means:

Don't run away.Give today one more chance to be good.Keep trusting God.

The strength you need to choose what is good comes from the One who is good—and who is always good to you. ❤️

Yes, even today.

Be strong. That promise—and that invitation—is for today, too.

You are a miracle!
