Too Much Hurry?

Publication date Dec 20, 2023

Is today a hurry day or a holy day?

This question is not so unreasonable. Honestly, what's still on your to-do list for today?

The hectic reality of the Christmas season triggers stress, potential for conflict, actual conflicts, sadness, and loneliness for many. It even leads to a feeling of worthlessness. Perhaps there is unrest in our hearts, looking back on a year that wasn't as beautiful as expected. Or the disappointment of unfulfilled dreams. Somehow, we try to distract ourselves with the many preparations for the holidays and last-minute gifts, rushing through a time that should bring us peace and tranquility.

"Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2:14 NIV

This is a verse you've probably heard a thousand times at Christmas, but have you ever looked at it closely? If you do, you may find the key to your personal breakthrough!

The verse begins with "Glory to God in the highest heaven," expressing your thanks to God, your personal confession that you believe God is real and powerful! What He wants to give you as you do that is peace! A peace that surpasses your understanding! (see Philippians 4:7 NIV).

Peace is possible even when your situation seems impossible!

friend, don't rush through this day, this season, which is so holy. Don't miss the peace that is within your reach today…a peace that doesn't hurry but stays with you forever.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 NIV)

friend, I encourage you to rethink your "to-do list" now, and start the new day by thanking God, recognizing "His being," and letting yourself be blessed by His incredible peace.

You are a miracle!
