What if this isn't a coincidence?

After lots of hard work, I had received the best internship position in my class! But after just a few weeks, I realized that the law firm where I was starting my paralegal internship didn't take honesty very seriously. With each passing day, my throat tightened a bit more until I made the decision to quit this "dream job" of mine.

It was already the middle of the year, and all the internships had been filled. I had no choice but to take a job in a factory, where my day started very early and the work was difficult and strictly controlled. This was not where I wanted to be!

Joseph had experienced something similar. He had been his father's favorite son with every opportunity ahead of him...until his brothers sold him. He even ended up in Pharaoh's prison! (see Genesis 39:19) Joseph, too, must have thought to himself, "I don't want to be here!"

But he trusted God and was kind to those around him through it all. Even though his circumstances didn't always look promising or hopeful, he used them to do good to others!

friend, do you know what the Bible says about Joseph's "I don’t want to be here" time? "The LORD was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did … Potiphar noticed this and realized that the LORD was with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did. This pleased Potiphar, so he soon made Joseph his personal attendant. He put him in charge of his entire household and everything he owned." (Genesis 39:2-4, NLT)

Rather than asking, "Why am I here?", let's ask, "What does God want to do through and even for me as I walk through this time?"

In my job at the factory, I was promoted very quickly because I was one of the few who didn't do the work sullenly but with a smile on my face and with absolute accuracy. This situation definitely taught me to find hope in circumstances I may not have expected!

"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." (Colossians 3:23-24, NKJV)

And you know what, friend? The boss of this big company was so impressed with my attitude that, completely unexpectedly, he ended up coming with his whole family to our church service! All glory to God!!

friend, will you have an attitude like Joseph today? You never know how God will use your circumstances for His glory and your good!

You're a miracle!
