When Jesus Doesn’t Notice You… 😳

“How am I supposed to be obedient when I can’t hear Jesus or God? That’s so frustrating! How many more years am I supposed to spend with God without getting an answer? It seems like He’s not interested in talking to me or helping me….”

Does that sound familiar to you, friend?

Then it’s no wonder you’re finding it hard to be happy right now. When your heart longs for something, in this case, God’s voice, and it seems unfulfilled, it can leave you feeling discouraged, drained, and unhappy.

friend, in the Bible, there’s a woman who must have felt deeply unhappy, too. When she encountered Jesus, she begged Him, “Lord, have mercy on me! My daughter is tormented by a demon.” (Matthew 15:22 NIV). And then comes a sentence that breaks my heart and triggers a feeling you might recognize:

“But Jesus did not answer her a word.” (Matthew 15:23 NIV) 

friend, how terrible is that sentence! How painful! Even the disciples didn’t understand and said, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” (Matthew 15:23 NIV)

But Jesus had a different plan and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” (Matthew 15:24 NIV) 

“But she came closer, knelt before Him, and pleaded, ‘Lord, help me!” (Matthew 15:25 NIV). And Jesus answered her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And in that moment, her daughter was healed! (Matthew 15:28 NIV)

Surprise God with a “now more than ever” kind of faith,and you’ll see—it will amaze even Him!

friend, this woman didn’t let the fact that Jesus ignored her stop her. She didn’t sulk and say, “Of course, You’re there for others but not for me.” No, she took action and kept taking action! She went to Jesus full of faith—and even though He didn’t acknowledge her at first—she kept believing! Wow!

Especially when you feel like God is distant,draw closer to Him.
