Who has influenced you?

Do you know that feeling of unrest that suddenly takes over your life, even though nothing extraordinary has happened? 😞
Suddenly, you no longer have the confidence in your faith that you once had. You read the Bible, but somehow something feels “off,” and you start making decisions that aren’t as wise as they used to be…
Well, friend, it may be time to examine your friendships and relationships. Yes, exactly. We often think it has nothing to do with it—but actually, it has MORE to do with it than you realize…
Look at what Paul says in Galatians 5: “You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth?” (Galatians 5:7 NIV)
Notice how he asks, “WHO” and not “WHAT” has influenced you? 🤔
Sometimes, we unknowingly let people into our lives who bring more unrest than peace.
And these aren’t “bad” people. They are simply people who “walk in the flesh” (though I don’t particularly like using such terms) and not “by the Holy Spirit.”
And people who “walk in the flesh” can only see as far as humans can see. But people who live with the Holy Spirit can give you the trust to take bold steps beyond what is visible! 👀
And we need those people around us. Because sooner or later, we all reach a point where we’re stuck in a dead end and can’t see clearly. And this is when it’s important to have friends who live by the Holy Spirit—who can lead us back to hope.
Because you will never find hope in people who seek it within themselves. Only those who live by the Holy Spirit have a consistent hope to give. Galatians 5:5 confirms this:
“For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.” (Galatians 5:5 NIV)
friend, who have you allowed to speak into your life lately? People who “walk in the flesh” or people who live by the Holy Spirit?
You are a miracle!
