Why are we like this? š¤·āāļø

Sometimes weāre just totally stuck, arenāt we?
Iām just gonna say itābecause I think weāre pretty similar that way!
I donāt know if you love celebrating your birthday as much as I do. But if youāve been following me on social media for a while, you probably know Iāve done something wild on my birthday every year. š
This year was different. I just couldnāt.
Instead, I was at homeāworking. Alone, as we humans like to call it. š«¤
Let me be real with you: I was really stressed out the day before. And, it made me sad to cancel my plans because I had so many deadlines hanging over my head.
But why is it that in moments like these, all we can see is what we donāt have todayāinstead of celebrating everything God has already given us?
Why do we feel like we have to experience something amazing today, when God already did something incredible yesterdayāand will do it again tomorrow? š„³
š¹ āLet all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.ā (Psalm 103:2 NLT)
Isnāt that exactly what God wants from us? To trust Him?
š¹ āFor we live by believing and not by seeing.ā (2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT)
Yeah, emotions can totally mess with usāIāve been there. But why let our feelings fool us when the truth tells a completely different story?
š¹ āJesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.ā (Hebrews 13:8 NLT)
The same God you felt yesterday is still right here todayāeven if you canāt see Him.
And you know what?
In the end, I had a beautiful birthday! Not because of a big party or a bunch of people, but because I got to experience Godās presence in my home so clearly and so powerfully, like I rarely had before. š¤©
Because when we give Him our full attention, something life-changing happens:
To be happy today, I donāt need any of thatāmy God gives more, and thatās where Iām at!
Lean into that. And invite Jesus into your loneliness.
You are a miracle! š
