Why are we like this? 🤷♀️

Sometimes we’re just totally stuck, aren’t we, friend?
I’m just gonna say it—because I think we’re pretty similar that way!
I don’t know if you love celebrating your birthday as much as I do. But if you’ve been following me on social media for a while, you probably know I’ve done something wild on my birthday every year. 😋
This year was different. I just couldn’t.
Instead, I was at home—working. Alone, as we humans like to call it. 🫤
Let me be real with you, friend: I was really stressed out the day before. And, it made me sad to cancel my plans because I had so many deadlines hanging over my head.
But why is it that in moments like these, all we can see is what we don’t have today—instead of celebrating everything God has already given us?
Why do we feel like we have to experience something amazing today, when God already did something incredible yesterday—and will do it again tomorrow? 🥳
🔹 “Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.” (Psalm 103:2 NLT)
Isn’t that exactly what God wants from us? To trust Him?
🔹 “For we live by believing and not by seeing.” (2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT)
Yeah, emotions can totally mess with us—I’ve been there. But why let our feelings fool us when the truth tells a completely different story?
🔹 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 NLT)
The same God you felt yesterday is still right here today—even if you can’t see Him.
And you know what?
In the end, I had a beautiful birthday! Not because of a big party or a bunch of people, but because I got to experience God’s presence in my home so clearly and so powerfully, like I rarely had before. 🤩
Because when we give Him our full attention, something life-changing happens:
To be happy today, I don’t need any of that—my God gives more, and that’s where I’m at!
Lean into that. And invite Jesus into your loneliness.
You are a miracle! 💛
