Are you content with what you have, friend?

I recently went out to eat by myself. While I was enjoying a delicious main course, I noticed the table next to me was already getting dessert. I caught myself glancing over, thinking: “Should I just order dessert now, so I don’t have to wait once I’m done eating?” 😁

Oh, friend... isn’t that so often the way life goes? We keep wanting what we don’t have—and in doing so, we miss out on what’s already right in front of us! My main course was amazing, but in the middle of my “I want that, too” moment, I stopped noticing how good it really was.

And just the fact that we have food? That’s something we rarely pause to be thankful for anymore, right?

Maybe you’re realizing that you haven’t felt truly content in a while. Could it be that you’ve forgotten how much you’ve already been given, friend? Take a look at this verse from 1 Timothy:

“Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.” (1 Timothy 6:6 NLT

Maybe this is a good moment for both of us to pause and remember all that we already have. Take a look at your “main course” in life—the blessings you’re enjoying right now. It could be close friendships, time with family, or simple joys we so often overlook. Because here’s the truth:While we’re busy looking over at someone else’s life… we can miss the beauty of our own.

God reminds us we don’t always have to chase “more” (see Ecclesiastes 3:13). Instead, He invites us to discover fullness in what He’s already given us.

So let’s slow down, savor what we have, and thank Him for it. And when dessert comes along? 😋 Celebrate it! But don’t miss the main course while you’re waiting.

You are a miracle! 💛
