Finances: Do you know where YOUR PLACE is?

“Come on, don’t tell me you wouldn’t love to see a big number on your account and be totally independent?”

That’s what a woman said to me recently—she had invested in crypto early on and done really well. She was trying to explain it all to me when I found myself saying, “I can’t really focus on that right now—I’m planning the next event.”

“Seriously? I’m offering to teach you the art of crypto—for free—and you’re organizing something that’s probably going to cost you money? What’s the point? Don’t you want more?” 💸

And by “more,” of course, she meant money. But that is exactly where the trap lies.

I kept planning the event, even though the one we did last year cost a lot. But it also changed a lot of lives. Still, that voice came creeping in: “What’s the use? If you made more money like she does, you wouldn’t be feeling all this fear right now…”

friend, yes—I know that voice too. That sneaky little voice that tries to sell you lies and lead you off course. But because I know that voice… I also know how to shut it down! 😉

I turn to the voice of TRUTH—the one that always brings freedom. I opened God’s Word for help, and my eyes landed on this:

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV)  

What is visible is not what is truly secure. Because the visible will quickly eat up your time. But the invisible? That’s where eternal life is found.

And just to be clear, friend—this isn’t an “anti-crypto” or “anti-investment” message. 😜 Not at all! I love that there are smart, successful people among us who God is calling into the financial space—people who can use their resources to support incredible Kingdom work!

The only real question is: Where is YOUR place? Have you maybe left it in pursuit of “more money”? 🤔
