“Can a “NO” be GOOD?”

Publication date Mar 10, 2025

Are you afraid to give God control of your life, friend?

You’re probably thinking right now: "No, that would be wonderful, if I knew that God was taking care of my life!" But in reality—in our everyday lives—it looks different than we might wish…

The beloved verse from Proverbs 3: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Don’t be wise in your own eyes…” (Proverbs 3:5-7 NIV) often gets a lot of agreement, but… really, friend?

Would YOU shout AMEN if you unexpectedly got laid off and still confidently say, "I trust and know that God will show me the right path"? 🔦

Probably not… even though it would be so powerful to respond to unexpected situations with the faith God expects from us!

I still vividly remember the moment I had worked toward for so long. I was sitting in that massive record label building, and the long-awaited contract was RIGHT in front of me:

“God, this MUST be Your will, so that I can reach even more people through this…” were my thoughts. And God’s answer came—right from Proverbs 3: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding!” (Proverbs 3:5 NIV)

Well, the Lord had other plans. The contract looked good, except for one thing: I wouldn’t have been free to talk about my faith…

Through tears, but determined, I decided: I won’t sign. No, I won’t lean on my own understanding, but will fully trust the Lord! I’ll keep submitting to Him in every step; He will show me the RIGHT path and crown my efforts with success.

…And the rest is history, as they say. Because think about it for a moment, *|FNAME|*: "Had I signed that contract, I wouldn’t be able to talk to you like this about faith today!" Incredible.

friend, DECIDE today to not just confirm Proverbs 3 with your "Amen," but to live fully by it! God has good intentions!

…And only He knows, beyond what you see, the WONDERFUL things His “NO” is meant to be.

You are a miracle!
