“Do you dress in superiority or humility?”

“You should be really proud of yourself!”Ah, I always feel a bit uncomfortable when I hear this phrase 😬 Because I know that everything I do—every song I release and everything I’ve “achieved”—has really only been through God’s guidance and, ultimately, God’s “yes.”If anyone had a thousand reasons to become proud, it would have been David! First of all, he wrote so many hits! From today’s perspective, his songs would be played on the radio constantly, and he would be performing on the biggest stages in the world! 🎵🎶David had other successes, too. He was anointed as king when he was still a young shepherd! (see 1 Samuel 16:12-14 NLT). He defeated the giant Goliath, whom everyone else was afraid of! (see 1 Samuel 17:41-54 NLT) He was a successful military leader, celebrated by many people: “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands!” (1 Samuel 18:7 NLT).I could give many more examples, but you already see, friend: David had every reason to be proud of himself. And yet, of all people, he said: “Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.” (Psalm 131:1 NLT)Wow. Wow. Wow. How quickly do we think that just because we’re better at something than others, we can say, “Yeah, I’ve got this.” And here comes our little superstar David, dressed in pure humility. The crazy thing is, while the world thinks humility is for losers, God values it completely differently: Your humility shows God, “I’m ready for more.”For David, this meant that after he said, “My heart is not proud,” he actually became the king of Israel, and God expanded his territory with even more success! He brought the Ark of the Covenant, the most valuable thing in the Israeli faith, to Jerusalem, and more, and more. In short: God gave him more because his ego didn’t grow with it.Let’s check in today: Where are we standing in the way of the “more” that God would love to give us because we prefer to dress in superiority rather than humility? You are a miracle!
