Don’t expect your help from the wrong place

Who are you, friend?

I really would love to get to know you better because you’re important to me! And whenever I get to briefly meet people from our “miracle family” at events, I always enjoy the funniest stories! One lady once humorously said, “Déborah, it’s unbelievable, but before my husband even acknowledges me in the morning, he always wants to hear from you first.” 😅How great that this woman can laugh about it—because she knows: “I’ll only be truly happy if I expect my help and attention not from my husband, but fully and completely from God!”And friend, whether you’re married or single, a student or retired, living in a shared house or on your own: THIS IS THE TRUTH!

Whoever hopes for EVERYTHING from God will lack NOTHING!

The story of King Asa really set me straight in this context! He had experienced an incredible victory against the Ethiopian army. But even though he had many experienced soldiers in his army, he knew he needed God’s help to truly win. So he prayed:

“...O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord, Lord, you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!” (2 Chronicles 14:11 NLT)

And God was pleased with this! So He allowed King Asa to win!

So why—W-H-Y—did he not trust his God anymore when the next army approached? Why did he seek help from another king? 🤔

The prophet Hanani was bold enough to confront him and said, “Because you relied on the king of Syria, and did not rely on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Syria has escaped you.” (2 Chronicles 16:7 ESV)

friend, it’s so important for you to hear this today! Because while you might think, “If no one helps me, I’ll never make it…” God says, “Am I not enough for you?”

You don’t have to rely on the help of others when the ONE can do anything—and HE is FOR YOU!

friend, let this thought sink in—and do something with it! Rise up—not because OTHERS are supporting you, but because THE ONE is supporting you!

You are a miracle!
