Whose help are you hoping for?

Where do you need help right now, friend?
Are you aware that God knows? And are you truly, deeply aware that He can—and wants to—help?
If you’ve forgotten that truth, I want to remind you today because it’s so shocking: even as someone who’s experienced so much with Him, I sometimes push this truth aside and think I can “solve” things quicker on my own, with my own actions and decisions. 😲
I’m sharing this with you so openly because we need to be honest with each other SO THAT we can get back on the right track!
Even King Asa, the king of Judah who had just defeated the great Ethiopian army through God’s help because he trusted in God (see 2 Chronicles 14:10-11), suddenly made different decisions in a new situation and trusted a human being(!) MORE than his God! And God’s reaction to this was devastating:
“Because you relied on the king of Syria, and did not rely on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Syria has escaped you.” (2 Chronicles 16:7 ESV)
friend, do you see the drama in this? If you trust God only HALF, you lose COMPLETELY. God EXPECTS us to trust Him—and to seek Him FIRST.
friend, I’m sure you want to experience victory in your current situation, just like King Asa did when he trusted God and defeated the great Ethiopian army. Do you know how he won that victory? By praying. 🙏 I would love to pray with you and for you now:
“...O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord, Lord, you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!” (2 Chronicles 14:11 NLT)
And what happens next in the verse… “So the Lord defeated the Ethiopians in the presence of Asa and the army of Judah, and the enemy fled.” (2 Chronicles 14:12 NLT)
friend, He’ll give you victory too! Amen.
You are a miracle!
