The Word Made Flesh

Publication date Dec 23, 2025

The story of Christmas is amazing because it’s a story of prophecy fulfilled.

God “spoke Jesus” long before he was ever born. He spoke about him to the prophet Isaiah, who said, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6, NIV)

This wasn’t a spontaneous idea; this was a plan centuries in the making. God spoke Jesus to Mary when the angel told her she would conceive and give birth to the Son of the Most High. And God spoke Jesus to Joseph, telling him that Mary's child was from the Holy Spirit and was to be named Jesus, because “he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21, NIV

The Bible says that at “the fullness of time,” (Galatians 4:4, ESV)—the perfect moment in history—God the Father sent His Son into the world. He was the culmination of prophecies, a promise to humanity. Just as I couldn't fix my Christmas tree, humanity couldn't fix the great separation from God. But God, in His perfect timing, sent the one person who could.

Jesus is the answer to our brokenness. He is the answer to the loneliness and frustration we feel when our attempts at a "perfect" life fall apart. God's plan was always to send his Son as the ultimate act of grace.

Take a moment and just reflect on the centuries of God’s plan, and then, quietly, ponder the fact that His plan included you!

Let’s pray…Lord, thank you for fulfilling your promises. Thank you for the detailed and perfect plan you put in place to send Jesus. Help me to trust in your timing and to see Jesus as the fulfillment of every promise you've made to me. Amen.

Never forget my friend….

You are a miracle!
