Do you want to go deeper this year?

Publication date Jan 27, 2026

You probably know this verse by heart: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6, NIV) Jesus could have added one more thing here: “And I am your wish-granter, your miracle-worker.” 😉

But He didn’t.

Why not?

Because He only said what truly matters! Oof… let that sink in for a moment, because that would mean: “The miracle I think I need might not be the most important thing after all…”

Well, it’s always a matter of perspective. When I wake up in the morning, I think I need a cup of coffee just to get through the day. From Jesus’ perspective, what I need far more than coffee is time with Him—conversation with Him in prayer. 🙏🏻

And when I really examine myself, there are seasons when I’m so focused on praying for my miracle that I stop truly talking with God… Oops. Does that sound familiar to you?

So here’s a sentence we should write on our hearts: I want to pray to talk with God, not to pray to ask for a miracle.

To grow in faith this year, I want to leave you with a few thoughts you can reflect on today:

You want a solution. Jesus wants your heart.

You want your circumstances to change. He wants relationship.

Because He is the way, the truth, and the life your heart longs for. And maybe this realization is the greater miracle— even greater than the miracle you thought you needed so badly.

So prayer should be less: “God, do something for me,” and more: “God, here I am.”

Because God wants to give you what you long for. But even more than that, He wants you to experience Him.

Are you ready to pray differently this year? Try something like this:

“Lord, before I start praying for everything I need, I want to get to know You, and consciously surrender myself to You.”

Amen.

You are a miracle!
