Now It’s Getting Tight
I bought a new pair of pants just a few weeks ago, but by the time I wanted to wear them, they had become incredibly tight. I had to admit that I had let myself be comfortable for the last few months.
You know what, friend? It didn't cost me a second of my good mood! For a woman with my history of years of eating disorders, that's not just a miracle, it's a choice!
I know how difficult these thoughts can be, so I want to share some very important advice with you today
Let's start with a question: What is dominating your thoughts today? Is it your weight? Your appearance? Your answer to that will reveal what's important to you... and also what could be dangerous for you. The word "dominate" means "to exercise power over someone!"
The things you think about exercise power over you! The more space you give them in your thoughts, the more they will take control of your joy, even your whole life!
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23 NKJV)
Thoughts are there, you can't just turn them off. So what to do?
friend, do you know what saved me? I've always consciously directed my thoughts toward Jesus. When I've doubted my appearance—and still doubt it today—I look into His Word. And that is a conscious decision!
The fact is: self-doubt disappears when we spend time with Jesus!
I have tried it. It works. It saved me and it will save you too! To be saved from something means to be delivered from its power.
There is a decision involved, a desire that will preserve you. “...I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord…that I may be found in him…” (Philippians 3:8-9 NIV) Is that your desire too?
You are a miracle!
