Where are you searching?
Are you even still searching for the truth, friend?
Early in the morning, I read the well-known verse from John 8:32 in the “A Miracle for Every Day” agenda : “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free!” (John 8:32 NIV)
Caught in the act of having already glanced at my social media (just aimlessly and for no reason) even though it was still early in the morning, and then, as so often happens, getting stuck there, I wanted to encourage others to be careful not to let the same thing happen to them. So, I posted this verse with the reminder to first open the Bible, while asking myself:
“Where exactly are we searching for the truth?” Where do you need the truth right now, *friend? And where are you searching for this truth?
Maybe you need the truth that you won’t be stuck in this swamp forever. Maybe the truth is that your marriage isn’t doomed to fail. The truth that you are not ugly and worthless, as you’ve been telling yourself for months, or even been told to your face. The truth that you are not a failure just because you don’t have a job right now.
What truth do you need, friend? I can tell you that every truth you are searching for, you will find in Jesus today! Yes, in Jesus, who says:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NIV)
Jesus is the way that leads you to your destined goal. He is also the truth that will set you free while you’ve stumbled and fallen along this way. And, He is the truth that will help you find life!
If you search for the truth in Jesus, He will help you find YOUR life!
Don’t spend hours aimlessly on social media or whatever else isn’t helping you move forward. friend, you are meant to live! And the liberating truth will be given to you by Jesus in fellowship with Him!
You are a miracle!
