Who took from the offering?

Things keep happening among Christians that shock us all, don’t they, friend? And when it comes to money, it hits a nerve and makes us especially angry…
I remember how, as a little girl, I used to go to this one church every now and then. It was always so exciting when my mom would press a small coin into my hand that I could drop into the offering. 🪙🪙
Years later, when I found out that the church treasurer had run off with all the money, I got angry too. Totally understandable. “He stole my money!” 😯
But first of all, I had gotten that money from my mom’s wallet. It wasn’t really mine to begin with…
Second: Maybe God didn’t bless my giving in that place, but He sure blessed me! He certainly didn’t take joy in what that treasurer did—but He did delight in the joy I had when I gave! And that’s what matters most!
“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop … And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’” (2 Corinthians 9:6–8 NLT)
friend, of course, it’s terrible when something like mismanagement or the theft of tithes happens! But leave it to God to deal with the “thief.” You focus on not letting the joy of giving be stolen from you!
Because first of all, the money you gave came from Dad’s wallet. Didn’t your Heavenly Father place that money into your hands—just like my mom did back then? 🤔
Second: He makes sure your giving multiplies. And not even a thief can stop that. Or have you forgotten that with God, all things are possible? (see Matthew 19:26)
friend, I’m so sorry if something like this has happened to you. But I want to encourage you not to stay stuck in that hurt, because there is so much blessing in your giving! 🤩
God can’t be robbed—so I’ll keep giving cheerfully!
You are a miracle!
