How should we face storms?

Home | A Miracle Every Day | Miracles | How should we face storms?

The life of a believer is a journey, a pilgrimage on this earth. Sometimes the path is free and clear, and other times the skies are gray and menacing. Luke chapter 8 recounts Jesus’s disciples’ adventure when they found themselves trapped in a boat in the middle of a violent storm. They cried out, “‘Master, Master, we are perishing!’ Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.” (the Bible, Luke 8:24)

Jesus was in the boat…and yet, the storm came.

It’s true that even though Jesus is present in your life, you will experience difficult times.

What is the name of your storm? Threat of divorce? Sickness? Depression? Unemployment? Fear of failure?

I don’t know its name, but I can tell you its purpose…to GLORIFY God’s name! No matter what is currently happening in your life, it has no other purpose than to lift up the name of the Lord.

  • If your storm is called “sickness,” your God is the One who restores health (Exodus 15:26)
  • If its name is “lack” or “need,” your God is the One who provides (Genesis 22:14)
  • If it’s called “false accusation,” your God is the One who executes justice (Luke 18:7-8)

And I could continue with any situation imaginable because He is the answer to all your needs, your ultimate protection at all times. This is why you will not die in the storm. On the contrary, you will see Jesus rising up against it and putting an utter end to it!

Today, I declare this magnificent verse from the Psalms over your life…You will not die… You will live and declare the works of the Lord!
