You are in Jesus Christ!

Imagine…you’re in a little private plane, and the turbulence becomes intense. The pilot orders you to put on your parachute right away because at any moment, you might be called to jump from the plane! The worst happens…the plane catches fire, you jump, the parachute opens, and you land on solid ground. But some people didn’t take the pilot’s message seriously and didn’t put on their parachutes in time… and they perished.

“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus…” (the Bible, 1 Corinthians 1:30) The original Greek used for “in” here means “within, from the inside.” When you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you become unified in His person, like someone vitally bound to a parachute.

Being in Christ, unified in Him, is essential because God sees you through Him. Trust in the Lord Jesus, just like you’d put your trust in a parachute when jumping out of a plane into thin air. Then, even if you don’t feel it, believe with faith that “you are in Christ Jesus.”

Being in Christ means sharing everything He has done and everything He is. It means that, as a believer, you occupy a new “position” in God’s eyes. Because you are in His Son, God gives you life and life eternal.
