When you want to reach people with the Gospel, you have to be where the people are. That is what Jesus did. He went to the cities, the meeting places (wells, gates), and to the places where the “sick” people were. When he was with the sinners, he explained to the believers that he needed to be there because he had not come to visit the healthy people. Mt. 9:11-12
Jesus went to place we would pass by
That makes us wonder where Jesus would go these days. I think He would go to the places we as Christians like to pass by. I think that He would not go to the churches often because these people are saved already (I assume).
The order is given to “GO”
We, as followers of Jesus have the order (!) to go and reach out to people. So where do we go? To the places where people need healing. To places where the Gospel is not known.
Jesus would buy adwords.
A big place to go these days is the Internet. People are spending huge amounts of time on the web. I think Jesus would be there, too. And He would bring hope to the sick and lost. He would buy adwords to meet the needs of the desperate people.
Let’s make websites with Hope.
When we think of reaching out to people, we have to be strong and not afraid to be at a place we don’t like. When we created a website on suicide, we did it because people were getting bad answers with no hope when they typed that they wanted to die. Now, when desperate people type in Dutch that they want to die, the first hit on Google is a website of Hope. I think that is the place to be as Christians.
