You are special ⭐️

In his book You Are Special, Max Lucado presents an allegory. The Wemmicks, little wooden people, grade themselves by sticking stars on those who are the brightest and dots on the less gifted. One of them named Punchinello is small and full of dots. He is depressed because he tries so hard but can’t seem to meet others’ expectations. So, he goes to find his maker named Eli…and discovers a great truth:

“Punchinello laughed. “Me, special? Why? I can’t walk fast. I can’t jump. My paint is peeling. Why do I matter to you?”

Eli looked at Punchinello, put his hands on those small wooden shoulders, and spoke very slowly. “Because you’re mine. That’s why you matter to me.”

Punchinello had never had anyone look at him like this — much less his maker. He didn’t know what to say.”

Perhaps people have stuck labels on you and judged you, devalued and scorned you. But God sees extraordinary potential in you. He created you, and He loves you (see the Bible, Isaiah 43:4).When your Creator sees you, He doesn’t see a failure, accident, or mistake. Quite the opposite!

When He sees you, God sees His cherished child. You are infinitely valuable and special to Him!
