You don’t have anything else to do!

The new covenant that Jesus came to establish is truly glorious!

You probably already know, my friend, but in the Old Testament, it was up to men to do everything possible to get closer to God.

God had expectations of them, which proved to be impossible to fulfill…like “YOU shall not lie…YOU shall have no other gods before Me, YOU shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, YOU shall not covet, etc.”

YOU: this little, three-letter word weighs heavy on our shoulders…
But with the new covenant, Jesus accomplishes everything!

God passes from the word “you,” which reveals how much everything rested on man, to “I,” Jesus’s “I,” demonstrating the depth of His commitment…“‘For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts…I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.’” (the Bible, Hebrews 8:10 and 12)

The focus has shifted…the weight of responsibility no longer rests on us like it did before. It all rests on God, on Jesus, who accomplished everything on the cross for this covenant to be possible.

Doesn’t this make you want to glorify God with me? Everything rests on Him!

“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.” (the Bible, Romans 11:36)
