What to do when “it’s an injustice”…

Have you ever seen or heard of Calimero? He’s an unlucky little chick, the main character of an Italian/Japanese animated cartoon. His catchphrase is “It’s an injustice, it is!”

Have you ever surprised yourself by saying this to your Heavenly Father?: “It’s not fair. It’s not my fault, but I’m paying the price! He/She’s the one who messed up, and I’m the one who got hurt…”

Injustice, or in any case the feeling of injustice, is inevitable. We all encounter it sooner or later. And when this feeling takes up residence and grows within us, it gives birth to resentment, bitterness, sometimes even a desire for vengeance…

Because we hurt too much. Because we don’t understand. Because it’s simply not our fault.

This is why, as soon as this feeling arises, it’s important to take hold of it, put it in God’s hands as quickly as possible, and not take it back up again. As the Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:31, “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.”

What to do when “it’s an injustice”...

I myself have experienced the feeling of injustice many times. What kept me from the desire to avenge myself was laying it all down at the foot of the cross, not taking it back up again, and allowing forgiveness to flow through God’s grace. Otherwise, this feeling of injustice would have grown and destroyed my inner joy and peace. And I couldn’t write you an encouraging and positive message each day!

So every time “it’s an injustice!,” take it and release it to the Lord in prayer. Tell Him just what’s on your heart. He is near to those who have a broken heart. Here’s a promise for you…

“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” (the Bible, Psalm 34:18)

I’m with you with all my heart, *|FNAME|*.
