Do you expect the unexpected? ?

My mentor once told me that I don’t live with the facts of my life but with the interpretation of the facts of my life. Wow, that still makes me take a moment and pause after every bit of “bad” news.

Should you totally surrender?

Would you totally surrender to an awesome God? It’s really our only chance at forgiveness and mercy. This is one of the main reasons we are refocusing on Advent. It’s time to prepare our hearts and minds for His return.

Prepare for the King of Kings ?

The beginning of the Advent season is a tradition in many Christian churches that helps believers prepare their hearts, minds, and lives for the coming of the Messiah. The word “advent” means something new is arriving or has revived.

Giving is living

I’ve discovered over the past four decades that, “Giving is living.” This saying came to me in prayer just a few days ago. It was one of those stunning thoughts that seemed to come out of nowhere. But I know it was a God thought.

You can have it all, Lord…

Generosity is a decision and a habit that’s not easily learned, and it’s quickly forgotten in times of need. I believe generosity (or the lack of it) is learned at a young age. Behaviors learned in our formative years are very difficult to change.

How do I know if I should give?

Giving can often be an exercise in frustration. I’m not sure about you, but I receive requests for money almost every day. Should I give? Is this a good cause? Will they spend my money wisely? Is this a reputable organization?

Can you multiply everything you have?

After I accepted Christ, I started to learn the secret of true happiness and fulfillment. I started to give things away with a long-term vision in mind. I gave my time, talents, and even my favorite cowboy boots away to another college student.

How can you increase your harvest?

Generosity is like farming—you need to sow seeds to gain a harvest. It’s no mystery to any farmer that seeds need to be sown to gain a crop. But most people don’t know there are a few more crucial steps required to reap super results.

Giving is gaining!

“‘Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.’” (Luke 6:38, NIV)
