Are you pressing forward by your own strength or by His Spirit?

AMED 40.03

Home | A Miracle Every Day | Miracles | Are you pressing forward by your own strength or by His Spirit?

When Nicodemus came to Jesus by night (see the Bible, John 3:1-11), the Lord revealed an important secret to him: “‘The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.’” (John 3:8, NKJV)

As you may know, there are two main types of boats: motorboats and sailboats.

Motorboats have to rely on their own energy. They are generally loud and harmful to the environment. Sailboats, however, rely on the breath of the wind to move forward.

As a child of God, you’re like a sailboat…you need to “catch the wind,” the wind of the Spirit! You have to let it push you in order to move forward.

You have a choice: you can count on your own strength and wisdom, or you can rely on the Spirit of God. Just between us, relying on the Spirit of God is much better. :-)

It is possible to do everything through Him. Jesus said, “‘But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.’” (see Acts 1:8)

I encourage you to catch His wind today and declare this power-filled song by Tasha Cobbs Leonard based on Zechariah 4:6. As the lyrics say, it’s “Not by might, not by power, by Your Spirit, God, send Your Spirit, God!”

Believe this with all of your heart…you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!

Be blessed!

The music is so encouraging. But not only encouraging, but we are commanded in our God’s Word to lift up our voices in praise unto our Lord. Amen.
Now on a different note: I have tried repeatedly to donate to Jesus.net on behalf of a miracle every day. The information comes up. It does not allow me to apply it. I am a retiree, not computer literate at all. So if you could Send me some information on how to accomplish this goal, I would be well pleased. Thank you, Gary
