Ask the Holy Spirit…

Faith is like a living organism. It can grow or decrease. To grow, it has to be fed by our trust in God and in His Word. So, our faith may be “stopped” in its growth if we let doubt and distrust in God dominate our hearts.

To give you an illustration, let’s say you hired an interior designer, but you refused him access to certain rooms. He would certainly redecorate the rooms he had access to, but the others would remain as they were…They couldn’t be changed.

It’s the same with the Spirit of God who longs to change your life and touch your emotions and heart. He can only go where you’ve opened the door to Him…In other words, He can only breathe life, peace, and confidence into the places where He can go. If you haven’t given Him full access, parts of your life are affected by this. It’s as if faith is paralyzed in certain places.

Is this your case right now? If so, I’d like to reassure you…it’s not all over for you. How can you help your faith increase again? I invite you to try something with me. But be careful…it’s crucial that you be completely sincere.

Ask the Holy Spirit the following question and allow Him to search your heart and soul: “Holy Spirit, what are the area(s) in my life where I refuse to give You complete control?”

Take note of what comes to your spirit and pray this prayer…“Lord, I know I haven’t allowed You complete control in this/these area(s), and as a result, it has fueled a sort of anxiety, worry, in me. Today, I want this to change. I give You everything, totally and entirely. Thank You, Lord, for Your love and peace that I’m receiving right now. Thank You that my faith in You is growing once again. Amen!”
