Today, I’d like to share with you this Christmas carol that exhorts us to lift our praises to God. At the time of Jesus’s birth, the angels gave us a sublime and majestic example.

“Hark the herald angels sing

“Glory to the newborn King!

Peace on earth and mercy mild

God and sinners reconciled”

Joyful, all ye nations rise

Join the triumph of the skies

With the angelic host proclaim:

“Christ is born in Bethlehem”

Hark! The herald angels sing

“Glory to the newborn King!””

There is true power in praise, when we lift up Jesus’s name and allow the Holy Spirit to act. This Christmas time, let’s make praise our priority! Any moment of the day, you can renew your strength in the Lord’s presence…By singing His praises, you will remember how faithful He is and just how much He changed everything when He came into your life.

The angels sing the Lord’s praises. Our privilege is to do the same: “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”” (the Bible, Luke 2:13-14

But we have a privilege much greater than that of the angels…we are children of God! God cherishes our presence in a very special way. He rejoices in our praise, in an individual way, because we are precious in His eyes and He loves to be in relationship with us!

In this time when our days are filled with holiday meals, gifts, and other festivities, I’d like to encourage you to begin and end your day with a time of praise, worship, and contemplation of our magnificent God.

It’s His invitation…and our privilege!

P.S. Let’s lift up the name of Jesus as we joyfully sing “Hark The Herald Angels Sing / King Of Heaven” with Paul Baloche!
