Commit to a life of victory!

It isn’t unusual to hear that some Christians are living lives of defeat, failure, and dissatisfaction. Yet, God wants the best for each one of us; He desires to deliver us of all our distress, as the psalmist conveys here:

“In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free.” (the Bible, Psalm 118:5, NLT)

It’s important to realize that only the Lord has the power to free you. The author of the book Lord, I Want to Be Whole explains that, in fact, “Each deliverance God works in your life will set up more healing and deliverance for you in the future. One builds upon another until freedom and wholeness become a way of life.”

As long as you remain offended or torn down by events related to your past, it’s as if you’re letting the devil manipulate you like a puppet. Using each of your emotions like strings, he will lead you to think, say, or do the opposite of God’s plans.

Here’s an action plan I’d like to suggest for today:

  • Write down what’s still hurting you.
  • Lay each subject, person, or event at the Lord’s feet.
  • Decide to walk in the Spirit, refusing the devil’s grip on your life.
  • Declare with conviction: “I don’t want what the devil wants; I want what God wants.”

Walking in the Spirit means keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus and choosing to live according to God’s ways. (Read Romans 8:5) When you live this way, continuous deliverance and liberty belong to you.

Would you like to commit to a life of victory?

If so, I invite you to pray with me…“Lord, I know that You have an amazing plan for my life and that this plan involves my healing and restoration. Teach me to enter into a life of victory without getting discouraged. I commit to keeping my eyes fixed on You and obeying You at all costs because I want to become the person You have destined me to be. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

I pray that you have a wonderful day with your eyes fixed on Jesus!
