Do not fear!

I believe we’re going to have a fantastic week together! In fact, we’re starting a series today about victory! I pray that today and in the days to come, you can discover or understand again that God is with you. Yes, He wants to strengthen you, help you, and protect and uphold you with His mighty hand.

The key verse we’ll be studying throughout this week is this: “‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” (Isaiah 41:10, NASB) 

“Do not fear”…We sometimes tend to believe that fear protects us. It’s true that it can be a good indicator of danger…But have you ever considered that it may also be possible that your fears have no rational foundation? That instead of being a protective barrier against danger, they may be an obstacle preventing you from entering into your destiny…?

What are you afraid of today?

• Opening up to others?
• Investing once again in a romantic relationship? Because you’re afraid of being hurt again?
• Finding yourself alone with your thoughts and emotions? Because confronting them may be too painful?
• God’s gaze upon your life?

Whatever fear may be in your heart, one thing is certain: God won’t leave you helpless in the face of it. We read in the Bible, ““No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.” (Isaiah 54:17) 

In His Word, God doesn’t make the promise that no weapon will be formed against you, but here’s what He does say: even if this weapon seems to reach its mark, it cannot be effective because your life is in His hand. Thus, the weapon of fear has no effect on you. It’s ineffective…from the moment you place all your confidence in the Lord. Trusting God will definitely require the uncomfortable effort of letting go, but it will also free you from fear…Trusting God will liberate you from anxiety.

Do you find yourself in the midst of a painful situation?

• This situation will not knock you out!
• It will not defeat you!
• It will not have any power over your soul!
• It will not fill you with fear!

Why? Because Jesus came to this Earth to be by your side and surround you fully, as this powerful song by UPPERROOM declares. You’re not alone…not ever. Fear no longer…the One who upholds the universe is fighting for you!

I believe and declare that you have the victory over fear!
