Don’t let this gift be stolen from you…!

Have you been so hurt in the past that nothing seems to be possible today?

Are you already so focused on your future that the joys of everyday life are slipping through your fingers?

This morning, your Father is encouraging you to stay anchored in the gift that He’ll only offer you once: the present.

The Bible speaks to us about daily manna: So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each ones need.” (Exodus 16:18)

The world’s logic says to collect as many things as possible today so that you won’t lack later. But God’s logic (that asks for a greater, more authentic faith) is that today is enough.

How does this relate to time management? Well, having the perspective, believing, that everything God gives me today is sufficient and allows me to remain, day by day, completely present for what truly matters. It’s also believing that today God gives me the food that will help me to survive until tomorrow: confidence in the middle of the trial to keep going forward, my children’s smiles that fill me with gratitude, my friend’s text that helps me get back on my feet, etc.

I invite you to declare this: Father, thank You for generously giving to me according to what I can receive, and its enough. Yesterdays pain doesnt prevent Your mercies from being new. Tomorrow, I can be sure that You will faithfully do it again. May I fully possess thetodaythat Youre offering me. In Your name, amen.”

I’ll leave you with an edifying testimony from Jenny, an “A Miracle Every Day” reader: Writing my thesis occupied my thoughts and invaded my daily lifeits all I was thinking about, and I was stressing out that I might not be able to enroll in my masters. But just like every morning, I received a message fromA Miracle Every Day.’ One morning, the message I received was particular because I felt it was addressed to me. In this message, it encouraged me to slow down, to take just a moment with God. I was living life in the fast lanemy thesis had accelerated my life, and I no longer had time for anything else. So, I asked the Lord to help me stay connected to Him, to help me understand and recognize when He speaks to me. And thats when, bit by bit, I eased off on the pressure because He reassured me that He is the master of time and circumstances and that His thoughts arent my thoughts. Thanks for existing!”

Thank you for this message today. I struggle with focusing on the present daily. I live in constant worry about things I’ve done in the past and I always find myself worrying about tomorrow. How will I pay this, how will I pay that? I allow this worry to consume me and it affects my mood. It affects my relationship with God, my children and my husband. God provided our needs yesterday and He’ll make a way today. God help me to live in the moment. Help me to find joy and peace in THIS day. Amen!
    Thank you for existing !

Thanks so much for reminding me that the present is what God wants us to focus on, because anything else does not matter, because he is in control, not us.

    God bless you Eric.
