Personal growth requires a clear vision of who you are and where you are going.
Have you ever forgotten where you parked your car? I have, and it may be a virus that’s affecting your life. The words of my wife echo on a daily routine: “Honey, have you seen my keys?”, her phone or whatever. She forgets stuff all the time, but so do I.
Have you ever struggled with your memory or maybe even a loss of overall life direction? Every morning, I wake up quite early, grab a cup of coffee and read my Bible. It’s a habit I’ve chosen, and I’m committed to it. Psalm 119:105 tells me that “Your word is a lamp unto my feet, a light on my path.” This morning, as I read Habakkuk 2:1-5, I realized that forgetting is quite normal, but God has an answer.
In those verses, I discovered three steps that will help me grow and reach a good destination:
- Get a vision. Without a vision for your life, business, finances, family or health, you will get lost. God has a plan and purpose for your life.
- Write it down. I’ve always used this as a technique in counseling. Writing forces our minds to become clearer.
- Share it. Share the written vision with others. Counselors, pastors, friends or family can help you refine and even facilitate it.
My good friend John Maxwell says it so well: “teamwork makes the dream work.”
God is making a promise to you today that He will help you grow and develop a clear vision. You will know where you are going and will discover how to get there.
God loves you and has a wonderful vision and plan for your life.
Never forget…you’re a miracle!

Thank You, Paul. Beginning this year these verses from Habakkuk 2:1-5, have been coming to me. I started of writing a verse each day that I believe God brings my way, on a white board in front of me. It helps me stay focused on God’s word and His purposes in and through me.
I am seeking God for His vision for my life.

I love this message, I have begun a journey into recovery along with my son, we have both struggled with alcohol. I feel that God wants me to help others. I am looking for a clear vision from God, and this message has been very helpful as how to go about that. I too start each day with my coffee, and God’s word it has changed my life, I highly recommend getting into God’s word to find his plan for your life.
