I will strengthen you…!

“‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” (Isaiah 41:10, NASB) 

How do you feel when everything God promises you seems to never happen? Worse, when everything happening seems to be the exact opposite of what God has promised you?

That’s just what Joseph experienced. According to the dreams God had given him, he would rise above his brothers, and yet Joseph spent part of his life in slavery, then in prison. But it’s precisely in those circumstances that God finished training Joseph to become Pharaoh’s second-in-command!

Your prison can become the door through which God will bring you into your destiny!

A person’s weakness is an opportunity for God to show His strength. Our weaknesses are the crucible in which His strength can be revealed. It’s a point I discuss often in my first book, “Connexions Divines” (in French).

And our limits are often an opportunity for the Lord to magnify His greatness. Yes, God’s strength is revealed more in our weaknesses, like the flame of a candle…much more visible in the dark.

It’s when we are weak that God makes us strong. How, and using what tools? Here are several:

• His written Word and His revealed Word (see the Bible, John 1:1-4), 
• His Spirit and His state of mind (see 2 Timothy 1:7), 
• The gifts of the Spirit (see 1 Corinthians 12:11), 
• Jesus’s model (see Philippians 2:5). 

The Lord’s promise is to strengthen you, and He will! He will manifest Himself in the middle of your weaknesses, but don’t forget that you have your part to do: use the means that God has given you to strengthen yourself!
