Inspiration for your prayers

I have a question for you today: what was your first thought waking up this morning? Many would answer by saying, “My first thought was: I didn’t get enough sleep!” or “Waking up, I thought about something that’s worrying or scaring me right now.”

All of these negative thoughts going around and around our minds…how do we silence them? Remember this: nature abhors a vacuum! It’s not enough to say to ourselves, “I don’t want to think about this fear.” We must replace the thought of fear with another thought of trust and peace…

The apostle Paul tells us in his letter to the Philippians: “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (the Bible, Philippians 4:8, NLT)

One great way to fix our thoughts on what is from God is to pray His Word at all times.

Quite often, we don’t know how to pray…

The Bible is an amazing source of inspiration for your prayers. You can take a single verse and read it aloud, or even better: memorize it! This way, you can repeat it in all circumstances, all day long: in the car, the kitchen, or the garden…

Thus, your thoughts will be filled with faith…rather than fear. I invite you to take a step of action today: choose a verse that particularly encourages you and meditate on it throughout the day. (If you’d like, here’s a list of Bible verses for you to choose from).

May God give you strength through His Word today!
