It’s all a question of balance…!

Life with God is an unceasing question of balance: all our sins are forgiven; however, God enables us to no longer sin. We live in God’s permanent grace; nevertheless, we are called to live a righteous life, without sin…

Here’s what matters the most: who you are for God, not what you do for Him. However, it’s your actions that influence and determine who you are.

Thus, someone athletic is only athletic because she plays sports. Someone brave is only brave because he overcomes his fears and continually gets out of his comfort zone. What counts, therefore, is our faith… but without the works that accompany it, it’s dead.

“…so faith without works is dead also.” (see the Bible, James 2:26)

It’s true that the most important thing is who you are: you are a child of God! But this cannot exist without tangible proof:

• Communicating with God through prayer,
• Speaking about Him,
• Reading His Word,
• Worshiping Him,
• Getting together with other Christian brothers and sisters,
• Etc.

Life as a Christian requires a balance between undeserved grace and the works without which faith is dead. It’s a bit like learning to ride a bike: at the beginning, you lean to one side, then the other, and eventually you find the right position… the one that allows you to go forward.
