Today is a great day to uproot the problems and conquer the demons that have tormented your life. I’m not talking about a paranormal battle between good and evil. I’m referring to the struggles that seem to plague you on a consistent basis. Like demons, these strongholds have a source, and most of them are not spiritual in nature.
The source of most problems lies within a thought. I’ve often told my college students that one lie can become a toxic factory. A lie about God, self, or others causes distorted feelings. The Bible says, “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12, NKJV)
Dr. Richard Dobbins, my mentor, often warned us that we don’t live with the facts of our lives but the interpretations of those facts. In other words, you filter every event and thought through your beliefs, education, experiences, and past interpretations. In most cases, our filters are dirty from trauma, hurt, abuse, and other types of pain. One lie can cause you to misinterpret the events of your life. Ouch!
I was the fifth child in the Goulet family. My dad was a war hero who worked his way up the corporate ladder. My mom stayed home to raise us, but she suffered from Meniere’s disease. I often came home from school, only to find her on the floor, unable to walk. It terrified me. We had a good family, but PTSD, physical sickness, and the ’60s caused our family to disintegrate. I left home at 15, believing my dad did not love me. It was only at the age of 33 that the lights went on. I realized that he did love me but that he didn’t have the tools to show it.
Isn’t it time to seek another interpretation for the events of our lives? Could it be that you, too, have believed lies about yourself, God, or others? Would you ask the Holy Spirit to help you reinterpret some of those traumatic events? I know you can because you are a miracle. And God loves you more than the entire ocean.

Paul, your daily messages are so important to me and each one including this one I just read regarding your mother and Meniere’s Disease which the Lord healed me from, I remember it so well and grateful daily to have been healed.
