Learn how to fight!

I love the Word of God. I love to read it, meditate on it, and teach it as well…Today, I’d like to share this powerful passage with you from the book of Psalms: “Praise the Lord, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle. He is my loving ally and my fortress, my tower of safety, my rescuer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in him…” (Read Psalm 144:1-2, NLT)

The Bible thus teaches you that God is training you for battle. He is your personal instructor, your coach. And what’s most important? In the face of the trial, He leaves you neither alone nor helpless.

Rather, He gives you powerful weapons:

• His Word: a two-edged sword (read Hebrews 4:12)   
• The armor of a warrior (read Ephesians 6:11-18)  
• The powerful name of Jesus, which gives you all authority (read Philippians 2:9-11)
• The precious blood of Jesus that protects you (read Colossians 2:14-15)  
• Prayer, which is effective and makes the enemy of our souls flee (read James 5:16)  
• Praise, which destroys your adversaries (read 2 Chronicles 20:1-23).  

It’s in the trial that we learn to face giants. It’s in the ring that we learn to fight, not in the stands. I invite you to be fearless…no matter what situation you’re facing. Because God hasn’t fallen off of His throne; He is still and always in control. Don’t let go of His hand. Don’t take your eyes off Him.

Would you like to pray with me right now? “Thank You, my Lord, for these trials that are intended to give me the maturity to fully live out my calling. Help me to be zealous when I have to train for battle. I praise You that You are my powerful shield. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Be brave in the face of the trial…the Lord of Angel Armies fights beside you!
