Let go…He is God
Home | A Miracle Every Day | Miracles | Let go…He is God
Psalm 46:10 tells us, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
The Hebrew word for “be still” is “raphah.” We could translate it “relax, let it go, be calm.” And to use a more contemporary expression, “Let it go, and know that I am God.”
To let it go and draw near to God…the Bible says, “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. […] we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Hebrews 4:16, NLT)
This reminds me of the story of Queen Esther (that you can read in the book of Esther). One day, when the Jewish people faced extermination at the hands of the wicked Haman, Queen Esther decided to pray, to fast, to seek the Lord. Three days later, she went before the king, who extended his scepter to her.
The king said to her, ““What do you want, Queen Esther? What is your request? I will give it to you, even if it is half the kingdom!”” (see the Bible, Esther 5:3, NLT)
It’s a beautiful image of the opportunity we have in coming boldly to the throne of grace. You have free access to God’s sanctuary by and through the sacrifice and blood of Jesus. Not because of your virtues, but because of His.
Come today…bring to the Lord what’s weighing heavily on you, your burdens, and let go. Let Him handle this situation, this illness, this difficult relationship…
The Lord says to you today, “Be still, let go, be calm…and know that I am God. In Me, nothing is impossible. I can change everything, transform it all, because I am the Lord, the Almighty.”
I invite you to listen to this song by Hillsong Worship, “Be Still.” In the Lord’s presence, let go of everything weighing you down as you listen to this beautiful song.
Have a blessed day!
