The Christian life is sometimes like a cell phone screen. It’s lovely when it’s new, but then with time, it wears out, gets scratched, and can accidentally break.
Sometimes we drop our phone and then anxiously think, “No! I hope it’s not broken!” And then, we discover that, unfortunately, one corner did break, and there’s a crack running across the screen. At first, we tell ourselves that it’s not that bad, it’s no big deal… But then, as we use it, the slivers of broken glass bother us and we finally decide to replace the screen.
Sometimes, life hits hard… situations happen that break us, fracture us. What should we do when we’re faced with setbacks like this? It’s simple… we have to go to someone who can fix them! Jesus is the One who fixes the cracks and chinks of our lives. What’s impossible for us is not impossible for Him! But it’s up to us to trust Him with our broken hearts.
Here’s what the Bible tells us: “A bruised reed He [Jesus] will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench, till He sends forth justice to victory;” (see Matthew 12:20)
Jesus won’t break the bruised reed… no, He won’t put out this light that still flickers across the screen! The Lord’s goal is not to break and hurt, but to repair so that the light shines again… and not only for you, but also for others through you!
I encourage you: trust Jesus to repair your heart today!
