Live a fearless life

I have a secret to help you live abundantly in 2022: live a fearless life. In my experience as a counselor and leadership trainer, fear is the number one problem that destroys individuals, families, or companies. Fear unleashes chemicals in your brain and causes you to run, give up, or lash out at others.

Paul the Apostle noticed a young leader’s struggle with fear: “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7, NKJV)

Fear tends to dominate every dimension of our lives if we allow it. Fear is physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, and even financial. Can you complete this sentence? “I was afraid, so I…” Adam felt fear in the garden: “‘I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.’” (Genesis 3:10, NKJV) I’ve felt fear so many times in my life. It caused me to avoid intimacy because I was afraid of being hurt. I feared my own feelings, so I fell into denial. 

Has fear hindered you? The Bible tells the story of a new leader who had to conquer fear before he could conquer the Promised Land: “‘Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. … Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.’” (Joshua 1:2, 6, NKJV)  

Joshua was an incredible second-in-command in the nation of Israel. Everything was great as long as Moses led the way. Well, not really, but it was normal. Forty years in the desert became normal for a people designed for the Promised Land.

Do you know that you, too, are designed for an abundant life? “‘I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.’” (John 10:10, NKJV) It’s really your choice. Reject fear and the spirit that it tows around. Invite the Holy Spirit to fill you with power, love, and a sound mind. Then create a new atmosphere with declarations of life, blessings, and love. Your relationships, job, and business will change for the better because God wants you to live a fearless life. That’s how you become a miracle.
