Do you live under the constant pressure of seeing that, despite all your efforts, nothing is moving forward as you’d like? Maybe these words apply to you: stressed, tired, depressed, anxious, frustrated?

It’s so easy to let what we’re going through define who we are!

Let’s read these words together slowly: ““Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”” (the Bible, Matthew 11:28-30, MSG)

Jesus says that if you’re carrying too much weight or having an “ill-fitted” day, it’s because you haven’t chosen what He had planned for you. He won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you! Let Jesus uphold you according to the unforced rhythms of His grace. When you take His hand and work with Him, no pressure can withstand His grace. Resting in Christ means that you place all your trust in Him.

When I realize that I’m God’s choice, I don’t let any stress, any weariness, any frustration…define me. If you listen to God’s voice in your heart, you’ll also hear Him tell you: “Rest in Me. I want to restore you. Take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me…Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”

Confess with strength and faith today…“Lord Jesus, I refuse all pressure and all oppression. I know that You don’t put anything too heavy to carry on me. Your burden is light. Your yoke is easy to carry. I walk and work with You. I know that You love me, and I choose to learn the unforced rhythms of Your grace. Amen.”
