May your day be transformed!

For years, even before getting out of bed, I had this bad habit of looking at my emails, turning on my cell phone, going onto Facebook, etc. Since then, I’ve realized that this is negative and toxic for my thoughts.

One “A Miracle Every Day” reader told me about getting discouraged sometimes: “My greatest difficulty in my Christian life is memorizing verses. I also lack consistency in my prayer life. And I have trouble getting up to pray in the morning.”

If you’re in the same boat, don’t riddle yourself with guilt, because God is your mighty God. He promises to:

  • Fortify you when you’re weak,
  • Give you new strength when you’re exhausted,
  • Renew your youth like the eagle’s,
  • Give you vitality once again.

I’d also like to share a third key/habit with you today: meditation. The Bible talks about its benefits in Psalm 1:1-2: What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! … His pleasure and passion is remaining true to the Word of ‘I Am,’ meditating day and night in the true revelation of light.” (TPT)

“Meditate” is a word in the Bible. It’s derived from the Latin word meditatiun,” which means “contemplation.” Meditation is biblical, not just Eastern. It’s very beneficial because it helps us to direct our thoughts towards what really matters. Some focus on their breathing to relax, others to release stress or inner confusion. As for me, I prefer to think about the Lord and contemplate Him. While relaxing and breathing peacefully…one doesn’t preclude the other. ;-)

Here’s one type of meditation that I’d like to recommend, through a breathing exercise:

  • When you inhale, think about one of the Lord’s attributes: God is good. Imagine Him filling you with His goodness, His “oxygen,” as this song by Steffany Gretzinger says.
  • When you exhale, imagine Him emptying you of yourself, your worries, your negative thoughts, your “carbon dioxide.”

Do this several times with other attributes of His that you’ve noticed in His Word, such as His love, His wisdom, His joy, etc.

I urge you to meditate on the Word of God, to contemplate the Lord! And as Psalm 1:1-2 says, you will be blessed and filled with delight!

Be blessed!

This is bringing desire and life to me into the deep places of my heart and my spirit. My soul is rejoicing in the moments of my creation and the fulness of Christ in me to where I belong through Christ’s death and resurrection.
