“I searched the Qur’an to understand more about Muhammad, but instead, I found Isa [Jesus]…”
Amid grew up in a devout Sunni family. And yet, he’s been a disciple of Christ for more than 11 years, all because of a simple question…
He was working in the Merchant Marines in 1987 but never put in overtime like the other sailors did…so that he could read the Qur’an. One day, his captain, Fernandez, asked Amid to read him some passages. Then, Fernandez asked him what they meant, and Amid answered,
“‘I do not know.’” Though I knew how to read Arabic, I really didn’t understand it. Fernandez laughed, ‘What? You are reading all day, and you do not know what it means? That is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.’”
Amid was angry, but it pushed him to buy a Qur’an in the Bangla language… “I searched the Qur’an to understand more about Muhammad, but instead, I found Isa [Jesus], and this disturbed me… I saw that Muhammad is not with Allah now, but Isa is in heaven with Allah now… Muhammad is dead, but Isa is alive. Only four times does the Qur’an speak of Muhammad, and yet 97 times it talks about Isa. Muhammad is not a savior, according to the Qur’an, but Isa’s very name means ‘Savior.’”
Amid got hold of a Bible and learned more about Jesus’s teachings and life. Then, Amid was baptized.
Glory to God! It’s true… only Jesus saves and restores lives! Because of His sacrifice over 2,000 years ago today on the cross, He opened the door to salvation for Amid, for you and me, for the whole world. If you haven’t yet made Jesus your Savior, I encourage you to do it today, on this Good Friday. It is the best of choices!

I am starting all over In Life at 55yrs old I have four kids who live in different part of the world.And am unmarried. It’s is hard for me I went back to school to get me more educated still I have no job I fill application s all over and still no one will hirer me . So I pray but I still don’t understand .I needs the Lord’s help and don’t know how to get it. Help me ask for help in starting all over in my life.Its been a long journey am all a long tring to survive.and these times.

I know how difficult it seems! Some times it is like God is not there but He is. He said that He would never leave us or forsake us. He love us so much that He allowed His Son His only Son to go to the the cross and died a merciless death in our place. He has not forgotten about you, Valencia. He still speaks to us TODAY! Like Job stated in the Bible “My Redeemer Lives”!
I will pray that God will answer your prayers! Lord, please hear this dear one who cry out to you! I pray that you will show this dear one your glorious hand! Surround this dear one with your everlasting love. I pray this in Jesus name! AMEN!!
