Say no to guilt…!

I remember, when I was little, the fear I had of being scolded.

Did that ever happen to you too? You did something foolish or wrong, soon your mom or dad realized, and then… the impending anger. You’d shake inside at just the thought of the reprimand coming! Added to the fear was also a definite sense of guilt. You shouldn’t have done that, you should’ve thought first, etc…

As we grow up, we can hold on to these same thought patterns, the same feelings of fear and guilt after making a mistake. May I ask you something? As a Christian, do you feel this way about your Heavenly Father?

However, the Bible assures us that God is “…full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.” (see Psalm 86:15)

Jesus took God’s anger upon Himself when He died on the cross and carried all your sins. And remember that “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (the Bible, 1 John 1:9)

Jesus took God’s anger upon Himself so that you wouldn’t have to endure God’s anger yourself. So say no to fear and guilt…!

Because Jesus’s blood has made you righteous, you don’t have to experience God’s wrath, no matter what you may have done. (see the Bible, Romans 5:9)

Remember that error is human and forgiveness is divine. God will always welcome you with compassion and mercy.
