If you’re like me, when a trial arises, you don’t enthusiastically jump up and down, saying, “YES!! One more thing to worry about!”
No! On the contrary, trials give rise to suffering, grief, and sorrow…
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” (the Bible, NIV, 1 Peter 1:6)
But the Bible also encourages us to see trials in another light…
Let’s read 1 Peter 1:7 together: “These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
Trials are there to reveal the great value and worth of your faith!
So, God isn’t allowing this or that trial to punish you or to teach you “a life lesson.” No… God is good, and He is love. His kindness toward you has no end.
But He also knows that your faith doesn’t grow when everything’s always going well.
Your faith sharpens, takes root, and assumes greater value when it’s put to the test. In other words, when you’re hit with a difficulty, worry, or hard blow, you’re pressed to count on God, to hold fast to His promises, and to fervently wait for Him to move in your life. And so your gaze turns toward Him, and your faith grows, making you stronger.
If you’re currently going through a trial, take courage. I’m praying for you, and I’m with you with my whole heart. But God especially… He is with you. You are going to see Him move in response to your faith!

Thank you for today’s message. It has really lifted my spirit, because I am going through a trial now. Going through this trial has really made me to focus on the goodness of God. Thank you Eric and may God continue to bless your ministry.

I just won’t to thank you 4 up lifting message you sent me. It’s hard 4 me to sleep at NIGHT because of the trial I’m going through right now. I love my God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I haven’t been able to find a church home. PLEASE pray that I find one. And I am a newly recovering addict. And need all the help I can get..My addiction has been chasing me since I was 26yrs.old. I am now 57yrs., I am not an everyday addict. Just when I am under alot of stress. Thank u for caring.
